Because of this, we are inviting all of the pastors, leaders, graduates, students of the Institutes and brothers of the Wesleyan Church in Colombia to participate with us in this grand celebration where we will recognize our Lord Jesus Christ for His faithfulness and help these 30 years of ministry. We want to express our thanks to the missionaries who have supported us in this great work.
We also want to recognize the different directors of the Bible Institute in Medellín. They are: Our founder Rev. Joseph Link, and the past directors Rev. Stanley Clark, Johana Jiménez, Rev. Marcus Dean, and Rev. Felipe Camacho and the current director Rev. Carlos Jaramillo. Many thanks for your support, service and dedication to this noble work. Also part of this family is the Bible Institute in Bogotá and its director Rev. José A. Quintero. HISTORY The WESLEYAN BIBLE INSTITUTE started in the city of Medellín about 30 years ago with the missionary Rev. Orban Joseph Link as an institute educating by extension. As the church kept developing, it became necessary to open an institute of residence for the pastor who lived outside of the city. The first location was in the Gerona neighborhood where it remained until 1990; the Christian Typography Union was also located there. Later a property was acquired in Bello, the current location of the institute. We have a beautiful, rural campus with good facilities. En 1992, Rev. Juan Piñeros opened a new location in his local church with the approval of the then director of the Bible Institute of Medellín Rev. Marcus Dean, which functioned as a Night Institute to bring theological training to the pastors of the area. Two years later the Bible Institute, offering classes on Saturdays and weekdays, was inaugurated by the Rev. Carlos Jaramillo with an enrollment of 70 students in two shifts. In 2007, a building was acquired where the Central District Institute of Bogotá is currently located, with an enrollment of 50 students in the Saturday and evening classes.
